The Flyway crowned 14 champions at Mayville on Saturday at the conference tournament.

Campbellsport won the team championship, clinching a share of the conference title with Lomira, which won the dual-season championship. It's the third-straight year the two schools have shared conference.

Coach Alex Costello said after his team lost to Lomira, it moved on to focus on winning the tournament.

"It took all 14 guys today," Costello said. "We haven't had all 14 guys since about Dec. 14, so we finally had our full lineup today and that's why we won.

"The guys had a chip on their shoulder and they were chasing for that next best thing and that was the tournament championship."

Campbellsport had four conference champions, which was tied with Omro for the most this year. Three of the Cougars four champs finished the conference season undefeated: Logan Knoeck, Conner Sitzberger and Brock Bentz.

Knoeck, a sophomore, majored WLA freshman Levi Schwartz 11-1 to win the 106-pound title, Sitzberger earned a second-period pin against Laconia's Devon Robbins at 165 and Bentz majored Laconia's Noah Larson at 285.

"It's just working hard at practice, making sure you wrestle the whole six minutes every match, wrestle through the adversity and just never give up," Sitzberger said.

Campbellsport's fourth title came from Porter Klotz at 175. He pinned Omro's Nick Steffen in 1:31 in the final.

One key match was the semifinal match for Klotz. He was trailing Lomira's Kolton Wagoner in the third period when he spun Wagoner to his back and pinned him, causing the Campbellsport crowd to erupt.

"I fell short last year, getting second, losing to an Omro kid actually, so it was really cool to fight back again and get the dub," Klotz said. "Same with that Lomira match, I lost to him earlier this year, but I knew it was in my favor this time.

"I envisioned myself winning this all day and I just couldn't see it going any other way."

Lomira finished runners-up and had three champions, all of whom finished the Flyway season undefeated. Sophomore Jordan Lisiecki won his second-straight conference title with a 17-1 technical fall against Jacob Allickson from Campbellsport.

Senior Marshall Hanke won his third-straight championship, this time at 138. Hanke pinned Campbellsport's Gavin Pickering in the second period. Hanke hasn't lost a match in conference since his freshman year.

Marek Lisiecki was the 150-pound champ, winning by medical forfeit in the final as Omro's Logan Carley was not able to go.

Omro tied Campbellsport for the most individual champions, the Foxes also had four, including three straight from 120-132.

Sophomore Mason Malnory won his first conference title, pinning Mayville freshman Parker Bangart early in the second period.

"I got second last year and very happy to get first this year," Malnory said. "I put a lot of work in in the room and came out, wanted it bad, so I took it."

Juniors Mason Boerner and Cade Sowls each followed up with wins of their own. Boerner completed an undefeated conference season with a technical fall against Thomas Kim of St. Lawrence.

"It's obviously a big accomplishment," Boerner said. "First two years of high school, I hadn't been able to finish the job. Feels great to be able to come in here today and obviously accomplish the goal I've had my whole high school career."

Sowls won by injury default as Campbellsport's Jake Bowe got hurt in the third period and could not continue.

Omro's final win came from Dylan La Kosh, who pinned Laconia's Nick Startbird in just 1:15. La Kosh was the only freshman to win a conference championship this year.

Laconia had two champions: junior Grahm Lemmenes at 144 and senior Colton Hagner at 190. Both wrestlers capped off undefeated conference seasons and both won via second-period pin.

The final champion was St. Lawrence senior Diego Soto, who pinned Omro's Fox Hernandez. Soto's win also clinched Lomira's second-place team finish.
